Curtis Island LNG: A Masterful Build

September 27, 2016

The world demand for liquefied natural gas, also known as LNG, is about a quarter billion metric tons per year. Forecasts show there could be an increase in demand of 60 percent or more by 2020 and a doubling of consumption by 2030.

The Curtis Island liquefied natural gas complex is Australia’s largest-ever concentration of private capital investment. The three plants on the historic megaproject will produce LNG for use by Australians and for customers in China, Korea, Japan, and Malaysia. The LNG supply from the project will produce about 8 percent of global LNG production.
